O-Anisaldehyde is an aldehyde-based synthetic fragrance. It is a colorless or pale yellow liquid. It has a strong anise and hawthorn aroma, a green, fragrant abutilon aroma, a floral aroma reminiscent of hawthorn blossoms, and a bean aroma reminiscent of fragrant orchid beans. It also has some herbal, spicy, and sweet notes. The aroma is strong and lingers. Larger o-anisaldehyde has a clear, strong, and harsh flavor.
It is primarily used as the fragrance base in flavors such as hawthorn, sunflower, and lilac. It is also a blending spice in flavors such as freshly cut grass, silver acacia, acacia, and fragrant grass. It is also a fragrance enhancer for lily of the valley essence and a modifier for osmanthus essence.
This product is an organic synthesis intermediate used in the production of fragrances and pharmaceuticals. In pharmaceuticals, it can be used to produce the adrenergic drug chuankening and the antimicrobial drug amoxicillin, and is an intermediate for antihistamines. In other industries, it is a major intermediate in the synthesis of the fluorescent brightener CBS, triphenylmethane dyes, and the moth repellent N.
It serves as the main fragrance in hawthorn, sunflower, and lilac essences; as a fragrance enhancer in lily of the valley essence; and as a modifier in osmanthus essence. It is also used in household and food flavors. This product is a food flavoring permitted for use in my country under GB2760-86. It is primarily used to formulate flavors such as vanilla, spice, apricot, cream, anise, caramel, cherry, chocolate, walnut, raspberry, strawberry, and mint. It works well in combination with essential oils such as tangerine. As an excellent brightener for cyanide-free zinc plating, it enhances anodic polarization over a wide current range, producing a bright coating and contributing to environmental protection.
